There are many places of interest in this area. Recommendations include:

Murcia, the capital of the region. A fascinating town centre with baroque plazas filled with flowers, lined by cafes serving tapas and wash it down with a local wine or a cold glass of beer. For those that like to shop this has to be paradise with individual shopkeepers taking pride in there particular wares. Visit the Cathedral, old casino and town centre covered market.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Elche. The local university town with a lovely ancient town centre surrounded by the World Heritage Site Palmera. The largest palm grove in Europe planted by the Moors and protected to this day. Also the centre of the Spanish shoe industry with plenty of choice between shops.

Alicante is a must to visit and easy to access by car with plenty of parking. A working Spanish seaside town. Walk around the Marine, take the lift up to the Castle, visit the museum and have lunch in one of the many value for money friendly restaurants where food is taken seriously.

 

 

 

Local to La Finca and just a few minutes away the following are recommended.

Algorfa and Los Montesinos, both offering cool plazas, restaurants and bars, supermarkets, shops and weekly markets.
